About Us (Real Quick)
We’re the Southeast Event Centre — a brand-new, state-of-the-art, multi-use facility in Steinbach, Manitoba. We host everything from concerts and tournaments to corporate events and cultural festivals, and are home to the Steinbach Pistons. We’re built for the community, powered by purpose, and driven to be the regional hub of entertainment and connection.
The Role: Controller
You’ll be the financial backbone of the Centre. Reporting directly to the GM and working closely with department heads, you’ll manage all things finance: reporting, forecasting, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow. You’ll oversee payroll and financial ops, and provide insight to help leadership make informed, strategic decisions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Masters in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics (required)
- CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CFA or CPA) is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in the non-profit, event, hospitality, or municipal facility sectors is considered an asset
- Proven track record in budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Excel-based modeling
What You’ll Get
- Salary: $80,000 – $105,000/year (based on experience)
- Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

- Standard business hours with some flexibility required for event scheduling and reporting deadlines
- Occasional attendance at Board or committee meetings
