“Have a Go” at Wheelchair Rugby

“Have a Go Days” Event Invites Community to Experience Wheelchair Rugby

Steinbach, MB — Community members aged 13 and older are invited to take part in an exciting and inclusive “Have a Go Days” event, hosted at the SCU Gymnasium in the Southeast Event Centre. The free event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 10 and July 10 and welcomes participants of all skill levels.

The initiative, led by Manitoba Wheelchair Sport Association, aims to expand programming beyond the city and connect with individuals living with disabilities. By offering opportunities to get involved in adaptive sports, the organization hopes to promote active, healthy lifestyles while supporting greater independence and community engagement.

Attendees will have the chance to try wheelchair rugby, a fast-paced and highly engaging sport that emphasizes teamwork, skill development, and fun. No prior experience is necessary, making the event an ideal introduction for newcomers.

The “Have a Go Days” event is open to anyone interested in learning more about adaptive recreation, meeting new people, and trying something new in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Organizers are enthusiastic about bringing this opportunity to the community and encourage everyone to come out, get involved, and “have a go.”
